Don't Mess wit Texas is the first album by southern rapper Lil' Keke. It contains the hit single "Southside". It was released on June 17, 1997, and is now out of print, but there is a new version made by Rap Classics. There is also a chopped and screwed version available with a different cover.

Critical reception

Leo Stanley of Allmusic wrote: Lil' Keke's debut album, Don't Mess Wit Texas, is an entertaining, bass-heavy gangsta record. Like most of his Southern-based contemporaries, Lil' Keke spends more time working a groove than with his lyrics, which makes Don't Mess Wit Texas sound like a party record, not a hardcore mission statement. And that's not a bad thing, since he has more rhyming skill and personality than many of his bass-devoted peers, two attributes that mark him as a promising rapper well worth watching.
