Dobroe Delo (Russian: Дοброе Дело/Good deed) is an independent, non-governmental, Russian charitable organisation whose main objective is to improve and support the lives of elderly people by providing various kinds of help. The organisation was founded in 2000 by the Moscow doctor Eduard Karyuchin, who is specialized in Gerontology. The organisations clients are often victims of totalitarian regimes, either Gulag- or KZ inmates.

Operations

The range of programs carried by Dobroe Delo is quite wide. On the one hand the employees of the organisation visit their clients at home and supply them with food, medicine, vitamines or simply with company and someone to talk to. They also make sure that the aged people get free consultations from eye specialists, ENT specialists or gerontologists without having to wait for hours.

On the other hand, Dobroe Delo is aiming to create a network of gerontological non-commercial organisations (GNCO) and to improve their role and place in the state. At the moment there are extensive contacts with many GNCOs from the western part of Russia till the Far East. Throughout the Internet Dobroe Delo is corresponding with its partners, exchanging methodical material and organising meetings in order to generate an exchange of ideas and experiences.

And the third program is the scientific research on the creation of new models for complex medical and social rehabilitation of aged people in home.

From October 2007, a cooperation with the Austrian Service Abroad is planned.
