DivvyCloud

DivvyCloud is a cloud management platform (CMP) that specializes in managing multi/hybrid cloud footprints and event-driven infrastructure. The product supports a wide range of cloud computing resources including instances, storage, networking, DNS, and load balancers. It ships with a web-based interface, a plugin system, and a unified programmatic API that works across over a dozen public and private cloud technologies. The software can be downloaded and run on bare-metal or on a virtual private server (VPS).

History

DivvyCloud was founded in May 2013 by former Electronic Arts employees Brian Johnson and Chris DeRamus. During their tenure at Electronic Arts they were responsible for the large-scale infrastructure of MMORPG titles. After writing proprietary tools to manage the complex environment, they left Electronic Arts and created DivvyCloud.

In May 2013, DivvyCloud was selected for the Accelerprise program and received a seed investment of $30,000. In August 2013, the company moved to Northern Virginia, where it raised $865,000 from a variety of angel investors. The software is developed and maintained by in-house developers located in the Washington metropolitan area.
