Disney Channel Romania is a Romanian language children's television channel that has broadcast in Romania and Moldova since September 19, 2009, replacing Jetix.
The channel is transmitted in Romania by all cable TV operators, including digital television such as Dolce (satellite television), Digi TV. Romanian versions of the programs are also included in packages of cable operators from Moldova, as well as on the digital platform Digi TV in Serbia and Croatia.

History

After Disney XD successfully launched on February 13, 2009 in the United States, the Disney-ABC Television Group re-branded Jetix (France) to Disney XD on April 1, 2009 and it was expected to be rolled out to other European countries in 2009. In 2009, Disney announced that the Jetix channel in certain countries (namely Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria) would be renamed The Disney Channel, marking that channel's first introduction in those countries. The change occurred on September 19, 2009. The Bulgarian and Romanian versions of the Disney Channel are broadcast as a single video feed, with two different audio channels for each language. In May 2010 Disney Channel Romania was removed from Hot Bird satellite. Advertising is shown in Romanian and Bulgarian; the voices in the ads are only heard on the respective audio tracks.
