Dimethylallyltranstransferase

Dimethylallyltranstransferase is an enzyme that converts dimethylallylpyrophosphate and isopentenyl pyrophosphate into farnesylpyrophosphate. It is also referred to as farnesylpyrophosphate synthase or farnesyldiphosphate synthase.

Pyrophosphate is also involved, as both a reactant and a product. Geranylpyrophosphate is created in an intermediate step.
