Richard John "Dick" Cherry (born February 28, 1937 in Kingston, Ontario) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers. He is the brother of cultural figure Don Cherry.

Playing career

Cherry played junior hockey for the Barrie Flyers, then professional hockey for the Boston Bruins for the 1956-57 season. Only playing in the NHL for one season, Cherry moved back to junior hockey, playing for the Kingston Frontenacs, scoring 60 points in 53 games. Cherry retired in 1963 to teach high-school in Kingston. In the 1968-69 season, Cherry returned to the NHL to play for the Philadelphia Flyers, where he remained for 2 years. He played 145 NHL games in total; 6 with the Boston Bruins and 139 with the Philadelphia Flyers.
