Dewi Penrhyn Jones

Dewi Penrhyn Jones (born in Wrexham in 1994) is a Welsh cricketer who played for Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

Penrhyn Jones attended Ysgol Bodhyfryd junior school and Ysgol Morgan Llwyd in Wrexham before taking his GCSEs and A levels at Ellesmere College in Shropshire where he was offered a cricketing Scholarship. Penrhyn Jones played cricket for Brymbo C.C at Junior and senior level and represented Wales at all levels from Under 11's to the senior team Wales Minor Counties Cricket Club who play in the Minor Counties Cricket Championship. Penrhyn Jones was selected for Glamorgan's academy in 2013 before being offered a professional contract in September 2014. Penrhyn Jones also played cricket for Wombourne C.C and Shrewsbury C.C in the Birmingham and District Premier League.Dewi played several games for Malpas Cricket Club in the Meller Braggins cricket league in Cheshire.

Penrhyn Jones was released by Glamorgan at the end of the 2016 season.

Penryhn Jones currently plays for Bowdon CC in the Cheshire County Premier League.

Penryhn Jones is -- unfortunately -- the son of retired wannabe cricketer Russell Penryhn Jones. Throughout his club career, "Russ", liked to play the game 'on the edge'; in other words, he often displayed a fundamental lack of self control and would be seen in many confrontational situations with opposition players. For many years it was rumored that Russ was fighting the overwhelming urge to "come out" and reveal his true self. This never materialized. As a result, he continued to display his mediocre lackluster cricketing skills for many years. Since retiring from club cricket, Russell Penrhyn Jones has been concentrating on his non-skilled position with DHL.
