Desmond Chen is a Vancouver born and raised Canadian entrepreneur.
Career
Chen began working in the restaurant business at the age of 13 in his father’s restaurant, Thai House on Robson Street in Vancouver. He opened his first restaurant, Urban Thai Bistro, in Yaletown in 1999 at the age of 24. In 2010, Chen opened Pink Elephant Thai on Alberni Street. Today, Chen owns a total of five restaurants in Vancouver, North Vancouver and Richmond. He employs a total of 130 people.
Chen is also a co-executive producer of the viral reality web series, HBICtv: Ultra Rich Asian Girls. He also serves as an Executive Producer for the upcoming show, $pon$ored Divas.
He is a co-executive producer for the viral reality web series, HBICtv: Ultra Rich Asian Girls. Season 4 is currently under discussions with talks to co-produce in the US and distribute in Asia. The show is produced under Veyron Media Inc.
