Demonic ("DemonĂaco" in the original version) is a Portuguese web series created for Dragonfly Studios, written and produced by Alexandre Silva, Emanuel Sequeira and Raquel Silva and confirmed to be based on factual events. The series follows the anthology mold popularized by the American television shows as American Horror Story and Scream Queens, where the series' story line, characters and scenarios change every season to form a miniseries, sometimes tangling the plot of previous seasons.

The series was set to premiere on September 12, 2016, however, it was latter postponed to September 11, 2017 due to the studios' initial lack of interest on the show. The first season takes place at the fictional St. George's High School and follows a series of mysterious murders targeting some of the high school's students.

Despite not airing until late 2017, Dragonfly Studios has already renewed the series for a second season to air in 2018.

Development

The series was first shown to Dragonfly Studios by Alexandre Silva and began development in November 2015, under the title Anthology ("Antologia" in the original version). On April 16, 2016, Dragonfly Studios proceeded with the pilot episode and placed a series order for 10 episodes, under the new title Demonic ("DemonĂaco" in the Portuguese version). On June 8, 2016, filming of the series began in Calheta, Azores, under the direction of Alexandre Silva and Emanuel Sequeira.

On May 15, 2016, nearly one month after the pilot episode, Dragonfly Studios renewed the show for a second season to premiere in 2018.

Season 1 (2017)

The first season of Demonic is set during the new school year of Saint George's High School and focus on murderers, spirits and demons.

The story starts as a new student named Ana joins the school body. Later on, Ana is told all about the high school's bloody past: a series of murders performed by Francisco Tores, an old student who committed suicide while raging on the school body.

Season 2 (2018)

Despite being confirmed since May, 2016, neither the producers nor any of the show's cast have commented or released any information about the plot of the second season of Demonic.
