DeepRoot Linux

DeepRoot Linux is a twelve-year-old GNU/Linux and Free Software company based in Bangalore, India. The company was founded by Abhas Abhinav in August 2000. He is also the current CEO. Shivanand. V. Edrami is the Head of Sales and Marketing. The company is currently 25 employees strong.

It was one of the earliest companies in India to adopt Free Software as a business model. They were featured in the August 2009 issue of the Linux For You magazine.

They have provided free / commercial support and associated services to hundreds of organisations (IT companies, corporates, non-profits, garments exporters, manufacturers, service providers and educational and government institutions in enhancing their productivity and reducing TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) when it comes to IT infrastructure Services.

Apart from a thriving a free software business, it also hosts and sponsors free software events in India.

Their most prominent product till date has been the deepOfix mail server. It is a Debian-based GNU/Linux distribution which specialises in mail server solutions. Other products include BeatRoot CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Lamtakpa, which is a contact manager.
