Dave Walker was a Canadian filmmaker and journalist who died in 2014 in Cambodia.
During his earlier years, Walker had served as a Toronto Police Constable as well as served in the British Army being stationed in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Later on, he had worked closely with filmmakers Peter Lynch and Peter Vronsky in Toronto, Canada taking on various assignments. Sometime after, Walker relocated to Cambodia on assignment working closely with Cambodian Sonny Chhoun.
On February 14, 2014, Walker disappeared after he left his guest house in Cambodia. Hotel staff stated room service cleaning staff went to Walker's room around 2pm that day and he said he would leave the room so the room could be cleaned. He then left the room with a bottle of water in hand and never returned. Walker's friend Chhoun said he went to visit him that night around 8pm and found his phone and laptop charging and his Canadian passport and luggage still in the room. An ongoing investigation was then created hiring a private investigator in Cambodia. Chhoun also reported Walker missing to Canadian authorities.
On May 1, 2014 Walker's body was found inside Cambodia's Angkor Temple Complex. The autopsy report could not determine a cause of death but did determine Walker died several weeks earlier.
