"Dawn Is a Feeling" is the second song from The Moody Blues 1967 album Days of Future Passed, a concept album that has each song representing a part of the day, with "Dawn Is a Feeling" representing the dawn.

"Dawn Is a Feeling" was written by the Moody Blues' keyboardist Mike Pinder, and primarily features the band's guitarist Justin Hayward on lead vocals. This departs from the Moody Blues' traditional method of having the song's writer sing lead vocals. Pinder ultimately wanted Hayward to sing "Dawn Is a Feeling" because he liked the sound of Hayward's voice, and felt it fit the song perfectly. However, Mike Pinder does sing the vocals during the song's bridge.
