David Tangata-Toa (born 15 July 1981) is an Australian rugby league football coach and former player who is the current head coach of the Penrith Panthers in the National Youth Competition. During his playing career, Tangata-Toa played for Hull Kingston Rovers and the Celtic Crusaders in the European Super League. He is the brother of Andrew Tangata-Toa.

Coaching career

Tangata-Toa acted as player-coach of the Windsor Wolves in the Bundaberg Red Cup in 2011. In 2012, he was assistant coach for the Wolves in the NSW Cup, before moving to assistant coach of the Penrith Panthers in the NYC in 2013. He was promoted to head coach of the side in round 7. From 2014 to 2016, Tangata-Toa was the assistant coach of the Panthers in the NSW Cup. In 2017, Tangata-Toa resumed the role of Panthers' head NYC coach. As of 2016, Tangata-Toa is the assistant coach of the Tongan national team under Kristian Woolf.
