David Jubermann (born 4 February 1982) is a New Zealand writer and the author of Shiftlight, Drift Race., Just Us and Hypercar.

He was born in Lindau, Germany, and migrated with his family to New Zealand in 1990. Brought up in Golden Bay, he completed a bursary in 1999 and then moved to Christchurch. He was awarded a BSC degree from the University of Canterbury in 2002. David Jubermann is the founder and director of the software company, Hexedra Systems Limited (est 2009) and lives and works in Auckland, where he continues to write.

His enthusiasm for performance cars was triggered by the diversity and controversy of the automotive scene in Christchurch. As a keen reader, he also noticed the lack of literature covering this genre. Prompted by his personal experiences and those of his friends, he wrote his first novel, Shiftlight, and based it in Christchurch. The book received many positive reviews and was discussed on various forums. His second book, Drift Race was published in April 2012. Based on drifting (motorsport), it is a loose sequel to Shiftlight. Both books are sometimes used in high school English lessons as a NCEA learning resource.

Just Us was published in September 2013. Set in New Zealand, it is a love story about two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find that they have a lot in common.

His latest book, Hypercar, published in February 2015, follows on from Shiftlight and Drift Race and is the third book in this popular car-series. It has received positive reviews.
