David Edward Campbell (born November 29, 1971) is an author and is the John Cardinal O'Hara, C.S.C. Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and the founding director of the Rooney Center for the Study of American Democracy. Campbell is Canadian.

Campbell writes extensively about politics, religion, and Mormonism and is often quoted in the media on these topics. He co-authored the book Mormons and American Politics with Quin Monson and John C. Green.

Personal life

Campbell was born in Canada and received a BA from Brigham Young University and an MA and PhD from Harvard University. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
