David Byrne is a British playwright and artistic director of the New Diorama Theatre in London.

David has written for radio, television and has won several major awards for his writing and directing for theatre, including the Writers' Guild and List Magazine Awards for Drama, Les Enfants Terribles Prize and the London OffWestEnd award for Best Artistic Director.
His latest production, the first adaptation of Down & Out in Paris and London, sold out at the Edinburgh Festival in 2015 and received multiple four and five star reviews before transferring to London.
New Diorama Theatre, under his artistic directorship, has won two Peter Brook Awards.
