Daryl L. Hecht (born c. 1952) is a judge on the Iowa Supreme Court and past president of Iowa Trial Lawyers Association.
Raised on a family farm near Lytton, Iowa, Hecht received a B.A. from Morningside College in 1974 and a J.D. from the University of South Dakota in 1977. Hecht entered private practice in Sioux City, Iowa, remaining in this profession for 22 years, until he was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals by Governor Tom Vilsack in 1999. In 2004, Hecht received an LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Hecht was elevated to the Iowa Supreme Court by Governor Vilsack in 2006. In August 2017, he was retained in a retention election, winning 64% of the vote.
