Dark Matter is an indie metroidvania/survival horror video game developed by Interwave Studios and published by Iceberg Interactive for the Windows, Linux and iOS in 2013.
Reception
Dark Matter received negative reviews from critics, such as a review score of 4/10 ("Poor") from GameSpot. The reviewers and players alike especially criticized the game's abrupt ending, leading to the refunds by GOG and the game being pulled from Steam for this reason, albeit it was reinstated later. Dark Matter publisher apologised for how "the end of the game may cause confusion and is not satisfactory" and blamed a failed Kickstarter campaign for this, promising to fix the issue by bringing a more conclusive ending. The game's independent developer Interwave Studios ceased to exist.
