Danny Ablett (born 5 April 1976) is a Scottish former rugby union player who played for Glasgow Rugby, now Glasgow Warriors. He normally played at the Centre position.

Ablett's rugby union career spanned the amateur and professional era. He started playing with Boroughmuir and was capped for Scotland Schools Later in his career, Ablett was also capped by Scotland Under 21.

He played with amateur club Glasgow Academicals before professionalism was introduced in Scotland for the 1996-97 season.

He played professionally for Glasgow in the season 1997-98. He played in the Heineken Cup for Glasgow in games against Swansea and Wasps RFC.

Glasgow Academicals merged with Glasgow High Kelvinside in 1997 to form the Glasgow Hawks (although both original clubs also survived the merger as spin-offs). Ablett went on to play for Glasgow Hawks when not needed by the professional Glasgow provincial side.

Ablett is now a surgeon in the Royal Navy and was awarded an Operational Service Medal for his lifesaving medical work in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan.
