As a child, Danijel attended the Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin Primary School in the Podgorica neighbourhood of Vrela Ribnička, later moving to the Vasa Pavić Primary Music School, majoring in the accordion. Alibabić first appeared in the music business in 1996 when he entered in "Zlatna pahulja," a music festival held in Rožaje. In 2000, he was awarded the prize for best interpretation at "Naša radost" (Our Delight), a children's festival held in Podgorica.

In 2003, Alibabić took part in a popular talent show called Intro Karaoke, organized by TV In, where he came third. Soon after, he and his friends formed No Name - a band that achieved seventh place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, where they represented the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. The band subsequently entered again in Europjesma 2006 for another shot at Eurovision the following year, but the country ultimately withdrew as the Montenegrin independence referendum coincided with the date of the festival. The band dissolved in 2008, and Danijel pursued a solo career.
