DJ Spinister (born March 2, 1973 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian and American hip hop DJ, and producer, of Jamaican descent.

Early career

His first major exposure to the hip-hop audience was in 2001 for the North By NorthEast or NXNE Festival in Toronto.

Was active with The Dope Poet Society from 1995 until 2006 and has performed numerous shows in Canada and the United States, Cannes, France as the first Canadian hip hop acts ever to showcase at Midem, the world's largest and most influential annual music industry conference with Maestro (rapper). Nigeria and Ghana with Thorobreds, Venezuela and Cuba for World Festival of Youth and Students. He has performed and collaborated with some of the most influential artists in Hip Hop including Public Enemy (band), Dead Prez, Jeru the Damaja, Boot Camp Click among others.

DJ Spinister has also done radio broadcasting on CHRY-FM, CKLN-FM, CIUT-FM and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) as well as many other stations in various countries.
