Cynognathus Assemblage Zone

The Cynognathus Assemblage Zone is a geological stratum and a faunal zone of the Beaufort Group, of the South African Karoo. The name refers to Cynognathus, a genus of eucynodontian therapsid, whose fossils have been found in that structure.
