Cuponzote is a marketing business that gives exposure to mainly small, local businesses through the use of online coupons. It is based out of Monterrey, Mexico but is operating all throughout Mexico, as well as several South American countries, such as Chile and Argentina.
History
Cuponzote was founded by its current CEO, Gerardo Giacoman, and COO, Claudio Canavati. Gerardo is a Yale University graduate and former management consultant with Bain & Company, and The Boston Consulting Group. Claudio is a graduate from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM), has worked as a Marketing Coordinator for Grupo Agora and as a Financial Adviser for Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP) and holds a degree in Business Administration. Old high school friends, they founded Cuponzote in May 2010. Since then, Cuponzote has been a steadily growing entity, with recognition coming in from local and national media in Mexico. News and information outlets such as Reforma, El Universal, Think&Start, and SEO Web have written articles which have helped give exposure to this growing business.
Cuponzote is a graduate of Start-Up Chile (Round 3), a program created by the Chilean government to bring high impact entrepreneurs into the country. Cuponzote launched its Chilean operations on July 2012. The same year Cuponzote won first place in the Entrepreneur category in the CNNExpansión "Lo Mejor del e-Business" ("Best of e-Business") Awards.
