Cuban parliamentary election, 2018

Parliamentary elections will be held in Cuba in 2018 to elect members of the National Assembly of People's Power. President Raul Castro will not be seeking a new term, and a new president will be elected by the National Assembly.

Electoral system

The 612 members of the National Assembly of People's Power are elected in single-member constituencies. Candidates are required to receive at least 50% of the valid votes to be elected. If no candidate passes the 50% threshold, the seat is left vacant, although the Council of State may opt to hold a special election to fill the vacancy.
