"Crazy" is a ballad song written and produced by the Americans songwriters and music producers John V. Anderson, Steve Williams and Steve Horton. The song was recorded in 1983 by popular American R&B vocal group the Manhattans and released the same year on the album Forever By Your Side by Columbia Records. "Crazy" was released as a single in 1983 and became a hit for the Manhattans that year, reaching No. 4 on the R&B chart and No. 72 on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides the United States, "Crazy" was also released as a single in the United Kingdom, where it peaked at No. 63.

"Crazy" was the first single from the album Forever By Your Side. It was followed the same year by the title track "Forever By Your Side", which was successful in Brazil in 1985.

Music video

"Crazy" has an official music video, recorded by the Manhattans in 1983. The video shows the high the of New York City and its buildings at night, with lots of lights on illuminating the city. The Manhattans sing "Crazy" in a club, wearing white suits and black pants, making gestures and dancing to the choreography of the song. The video also shows images of couples and at a later time, four women appear dancing on the stage where the Manhattans sing. The video lasts approximately 4:00, which is almost the same length the 7" Single version of "Crazy", lasting 3:55.

7" single

The original lengths from the album Forever By Your Side are 4:52 for "Crazy" and 5:05 for "Love Is Gonna Find You". In this 7" single, the lengths of 3:55* for "Crazy" and 4:55* for "Love Is Gonna Find You" were edited in smaller lengths than the originals. In 2014, the album Forever By Your Side was remastered on CD with the caption "Expanded Edition" and these two edited versions with shorter lengths of "Crazy" and "Love Is Gonna Find You" were included in the final album as two bonus tracks.

12" single

The 12" single brings the full version of "Crazy", contained in the album Forever By Your Side, but, its duration is described in single as 5:00*, eight seconds more than the album, which has 4:52. The B-side of this single brings the instrumental version of "Crazy", which also has lasting 5:00. The album was remastered on CD in 2014 and this instrumental version of "Crazy" was included as a bonus track.
