Country Music Association Award for Entertainer of the Year

The Country Music Association Awards is a major awards show in country music, with the highest honor being the award for entertainer of the year. In 1972, Loretta Lynn became the first female artist to be honored with this award. Since then, only 6 female artists have ever won this award. Along with Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift are the six female artists to win entertainer of the year (however, all-female group the Dixie Chicks have also received the honor), with Barbara Mandrell and Taylor Swift being the only female artists to ever win it twice.
