Copper zinc antimony sulfide is a relatively new class of semiconductor, derived from copper antimony sulfide (CAS). Copper antimony sulfide, a famatinite class of compound, is being explored for photovoltaic applications. Other sulfosalt group compounds such as chalcostibite and tetrahedrite also exhibit photovoltaic properties. These materials show potential for applications such as thin film solar cells, photoelectrochemical hydrogen production, thermoelectricity production, and topological insulators.
