Confitex is a specialist apparel company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. Confitex specialises in the design and manufacture of functional underwear and lingerie. Confitex’s main product range is designed for those who experience bladder leakage or urinary incontinence.

Confitex products feature their patented three-layer textile technology, which is absorbent, breathable, waterproof and washable. Their unique textile technology allows their products to be plastic free, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly.

History

Confitex was founded in 2012 by two New Zealand entrepreneurs – Dr Mark Davey, and fashion designer Frantisek Riha-Scott.

Confitex first commenced trading in 2015 with their range of incontinence underwear for men and women. As part of Confitex’s launch and market positioning they featured in a solo show at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2015. This was the first time an incontinence lingerie underwear collection had ever been shown on a runway. The show featured a designer range of Confitex underwear “the Hi-Life Collection” which included bras, camisoles, and G-strings designed for light incontinence. The show generated global media publicity regarding the need to challenge the taboo around urinary incontinence.
