Collins Collins

Collins (dates unknown) was an English cricketer who played for Surrey during the 1740s.

Career

Collins is mentioned in 1744 and 1748. On Saturday, 2 June 1744, he played for London against Slindon in the earliest match that has a surviving scorecard. On Monday, 6 June 1748, he took part in a single wicket match between two teams of "fives", playing for "The Rest" versus Addington.

As Collins had established his reputation by 1744, he must have been active for some years previously and his career probably began in the 1730s. Very few players were mentioned by name in contemporary reports and there are no other references to Collins.
