The College of Health Care Professions’ McAllen Campus is one of seven Texas campuses of the College of Health Care Professions (CHCP). CHCP specializes in education and training for careers in health care and is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Courses of study offered on the McAllen campus include an Associate’s degree (AAS) program as well as certificate programs. CHCP also offers online degree, certificate and Continuing Education (CE) programs to students in Texas and 19 additional U.S. states.
CHCP was founded in 1988. Its McAllen Campus was completed and began accepting students in 2015.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography AAS
Program Objective: Preparation for entry-level employment as an Ultrasound Technician.

Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist with Medical Assisting Skills - blended classroom and online delivery
Program Objective: Training to take quality patient X-rays for use in diagnosis.

Medical Assistant Certificate – blended classroom and online delivery
Program Objective: Preparation to assist doctors and patients by taking vital signs and EKGs, drawing blood for testing and performing administrative/billing/reception tasks.

Medical Coding and Billing - Health Information Technology Certificate
Program Objective: Achieve proficiency in the coding and billing of medical records and management of health information in preparation for taking a coding and medical records certification exam.

CHCP’s McAllen Campus is located in Bicentennial Crossing, a 4.5 acre site at the intersection of Nolanda Avenue and Bicentennial Boulevard. It is a short walk from both the International Museum of Art & Science and McAllen Public Library.
