Colin Walker (born 8 July 1949) is an English cellist who played with Electric Light Orchestra from 1972 to 1973.
Walker was born in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire and was educated at Marling School in Stroud and the Royal Academy of Music in London. By his own admission, his greatest regret was not playing on The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby (Haines, Guttenbacher, and Petersdorff 2000).
Walker joined ELO in 1972 and made his debut appearance with the Birmingham ensemble at the Reading Festival that year. He also contributed cello to ELO 2, the single Showdown and half of On the Third Day, but he quit the band along with violinist Wilf Gibson during production of the latter and he was replaced by Hugh McDowell, who had returned to the band from Wizzard, while remaining cellist Mike Edwards stayed in the band.
After his departure from ELO, he reverted to teaching and played cello on the track "Fool's Gold", a track on the album "Thought Talk" by Starry Eyed and Laughing (Haines, Guttenbacher, and Petersdorff 2000).
