The National Trust Buscot and Coleshill Estates, and Buscot Park, are nearby. During World War II, Coleshill House, on the estate, was the headquarters of the secret Auxiliary Units, who were to resist the expected occupation of the United Kingdom by Nazi Germany. Coleshill House burned down in 1952.

The record producer Sir George Martin lived in the former rectory, until his death in March 2016. His private funeral was held in the village's Parish Church.
