Sacred Heart College, Sucre, was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1913. It is coeducational, and offers six years of primary and six years of secondary education.

Extracurricular programs

  • Basketball and football for both boys and girls at all levels. A large indoor basketball stadium doubles as an assembly hall.
  • Taekwondo: four black belts who started the sport at the College are representing the department and the country in national and international events.
  • Other activities scheduled include artistic gymnastics, dance, chess, poetry and public speaking, and wind instruments (dulcimer, flute, recorder, guitar, charango, violin).
  • Race walking: for the whole family, a footrace to promote good health.
  • National days are celebrated to commemorate the coming to independence of the country and its defense during various aggressions, with a theme of striving for peace and harmony with all peoples.
  • Parenting sessions are held by the Community Participation Unit (UPC) with the theme of the role of parents in the integral formation of children.
  • Voluntary service to the elderly and children is promoted through the Community Participation Unit, and bazaars are held for the benefit of the needy.
