Clyde Arwood (September 7, 1901 – August 14, 1943) was the only person ever executed by the United States federal government in Tennessee. He was convicted of killing a federal agent during a moonshine raid, which is a federal capital offense. Arwood was executed in the electric chair at age 41. in Tennessee State Penitentiary in Nashville. Arwood was the last federal inmate executed under administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
