Plot
All the parents are at Phil’s and Claire’s House for a couple therapy with Dr. Debra Radcliffe. It’s revealed that Gloria (Sofía Vergara) won it in an auction and that Debra Radcliffe is here to help them to open their emotions. Jay (Ed O'Neill) tries to resist because he wants to see a football game. Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) enter in competition against Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet). When Debra leaves them due to a familial emergency, they’re on their own and try to cooperate with her book which is entitled “Clean Out Your Junk Drawer”.
A subplot features Alex (Ariel Winter) and Haley (Sarah Hyland), who visits her at Caltech and the two sisters end up giving advice to one another. Alex breaks up with Ruben and Haley and Andy sleep together again.
