Clarendon is a rural locality in the Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia. The origin of the suburb name is from a railway station which was named Clarendon after a nearby lake of the same name.

History

Clarendon Post Office opened on 1 July 1927 (a receiving office had been open from 1873 under the names of Tarampa, Watson's and Clarendon) and closed in 1951.

Lake Clarendon State School opened in June 1902 and caters for students from Prep to Year six.
