Clarence ”Puggy” Bell was an American basketball player for the New York Rens. Clarence was the MVP during the 1939 World Professional Basketball Tournament.

Bell won a World Basketball Championship in 1939 and 1943. He was the first black recipient of the MVP award. In 2005, he was elected to the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame.
