The Clásico Universitario is one of the most important matches of Chilean soccer. It is contested between Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile. This clásico (derby) has been recognized by FIFA as the most traditional of Chile. It is the oldest confrontation between two clubs academic roots, as the first history of this confrontation back to the University Classics 1909. Both teams have played twenty definitions between them (finals, semi-finals, qualifying in general), Universidad Católica won thirteen and Universidad de Chile six.
