The City Municipality of Murska Sobota ([ˈmuːɾska ˈsoːbɔta]; Slovene: Mestna občina Murska Sobota) is one of eleven city municipalities of Slovenia. It lies in northeastern Slovenia and was established in 1994. Its centre is the town of Murska Sobota. The area traditionally belongs to the region of Prekmurje and has been since 1995 included in the Mura Statistical Region.
