Citi began operations in Colombia in 1916, becoming the country's oldest international bank. Citi Colombia is part of Citigroup, a financial group with 200 years of experience in the financial sector.

Bernardo Chacin is the President of the bank since May 2015 and is responsible for the Andean Cluster formed by Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Chacin assumed the presidency in replacement of Bernardo NoreƱa.

According to its report of sustainability 2014, Citi Colombia obtained net utility of COP $228,816 million Colombian weights and increased his net utility final in 62%. The company has 3,472 direct employees and nearly 1000 indirect employees; it operates in 13 cities of the country and has nearly 560,000 customers. In Colombia, the company is formed of Citibank-Colombia SA, Cititrust-Colombia SA, Citivalores SA Stockbroker, in which control is exercised by Citibank NA and indirectly through its subordinate Citibank Overseas Investment Corporation - COIC, being Citibank Colombia SA the society that exercises control in Colombia.

It is also part of Asobancaria, Colombia's financial sector.

Sustainability

Through Citi Foundation, Citi Colombia moved resources to help communities where the company operates. According to its 2014 sustainability report, the Foundation support organizations that work to improve financial education and inclusion, business development and youth education on financial capabilities.

One of the initiatives of social support is the Citi Microentrepreneur Award, an event that seeks to recognize the efforts of the Colombian microentrepreneurs who have undertaken a sustainable business and generating progress to their community.

In recognition for all the work done by the organization in sustainability, Citi has benn included in the global Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for 15 years.
