Chryssa Kouveliotou is a Greek astrophysicist who studied in the United Kingdom and Germany.

Biography

Kouveliotou taught at the University of Athens before pursuing research work in the United States. She received the Dannie Heineman Prize for Astrophysics and shared the Bruno Rossi Prize for her work on magnetars. She is a professor at George Washington University who had worked in high-energy astrophysics at Marshall Space Flight Center.

Kouveliotou was married to fellow astrophysicist Jan van Paradijs.
