Chris Newans (born October 6, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey and roller hockey defenceman.

Newans began his professional career in Austria, playing the 1990-91 season with Innsbrucker EV. He went on to play 15 seasons of professional hockey, predominately in the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) where he scored 76 goals and 155 assists for 231 points, while earning 1,108 penalty minutes, in 234 WCHL games played.

Newans led all WCHL defencemen in goals scored during the 1996–97, 1997–98, and 1999–2000 WCHL seasons. During the 1996–97 WCHL season Newans set the WCHL single season records for most goals (26), most assists (57), and most points (83) by a defenceman.

Newans also played professional roller hockey with the Anaheim Bullfrogs of Roller Hockey International during the 1997 season.
