Background

Field's early musical days were spent playing guitar in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in various acid rock groups. Field's then moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and built a name for himself in the city as a psychedelic guitar player.

Field was signed to FOD Records in 2004 and recorded his debut at Rockfield Studios in Wales and Air Studios in London. Field's 2007 album was titled Powis Square, named after the West London block. The song "Only the Rich Survive" from Powis Square was written by Chris Field after spending a night drinking and talking politics with Hunter S. Thompson on the west coast of Canada. The video for the single "Make it Tonight" was filmed in London at Abbey Road Studios. Field rides a custom chopper in the video which was supplied to him by rock and roll tour manager Phil Kaufman.

Powis Square includes special guests Sam Brown, Blondie bassist Nigel Harrison and Robert Plant guitarist Robbie Blunt.

Field has been cast by director Tony Van Den Ende to play the lead role in a film based on events in the life and times of psychedelic renegade Syd Barrett. Pre-production started in spring 2009 in London. Field released Steel Tiger in 2011 on Warmgun Records.
