History

Chitose Station was opened as Tsugaru-Chitose Station 津軽千年駅 (Tsugaru-Chitose-eki) on January 26, 1952, with the opening of the Ōwani Line. The station name was changed to its present name on April 1, 2008.

    Chitose Station has a single island platform with two tracks. There is no station building, but only a small waiting room on the platform. The station is attended only during morning and evening commuting hours
