Chionodes pereyra

Chionodes pereyra is a moth in the Gelechiidae family. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Massachusetts and Michigan to Florida and Texas.

The wingspan is 16–17 mm. The forewings are light-brown with a conspicuous, blackish-fuscous spot on the costa at the basal third and elongate blackish-fuscous spots on the fold and in the center of the cell, as well as a spot at the end of the cell. The apical third is fuscous, bisected by a pale transverse fascia at the apical fourth. The hindwings are pale grey basally shading to dark fuscous apically and with a golden sheen.

The larvae feed on Quercus species of the red oak group.
