It is located about 12 km from the mandal headquarters located at Pusapatirega and about 25 km from Vizianagaram city.

Santapille Lighthouse

There is an ancient Lighthouse called "Santapille Lighthouse" in the village. Its main objective is to warn about the danger of the Shoal six miles off the coast. It was first commissioned in 1840 and subsequently renovated in the years 1849, 1903 and 1995.

It was ruled by Mongam family. Late Mongam Chinnaih Dora is the first ruler and a land lord. Born in caste of Kshtriya Kapu referred as Telaga and Chowdaries. Mongam families are titled with the name Dora as a last name. Sirimanutsav were carried here by Mongam family once for every four years. Erakamma is the goddess worshiped by the people of Chintapalli. As per history, Erakamma is spouse of Mongam Chinnaih Dora.
