Chakora is a village in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located at 32°47'0N 72°43'0E with an altitude of 642 metres (2109 feet).

Chakora is a village 5 km west of Chakwal on Talgang Road, next to Odherwal and opposite to District Courts Complex Chakwal. Inhabited (as the legend goes) by Baba Kamal a brother of Baba Odher the ancestor of Oudherwal. Chakora is fully aboded by Kahuts (although Oudherwal consists of Myres and Gonadals also) is the birthplace of Chaudhry Muhammad Zaman Khan a prominent and respected zamindar and educationist who was a founder father of Education movement to educate Kahuts and first Councillor of Sadwal Union Council. Present District complex is located on the 'shamlat' of Chakora where zamindars of Chakora used to thresh their wheat and other corps. In old times Chakora was famous for its full bearded men who were regular namazis and staunch Muslims, life was very simple, in the whole village only two or three houses were built of red bricks. With the changing times Chakora and its inhabitants have also modernised, most of the inhabitants and their offspring are overseas epmployed with good earnings, nowadays instead of Kaccha houses elegant Kothees have tken place. While in old days Daraz Khan was famous for his Oxen, one of his Ox was offered a grand price of about one lakh Rupees in 60s but he refused that offer and sacrificed the Ox on Eid in the name of God. Prominent persons of Chakora were Nurials, who are the family of Chaudhry Muhammed Zaman Khan and his sons,a) his elder son Capt.Chaudhry Muhammad Khan who has been House A.D.C to President Gen. Yahya Khan,b)his younger son Chaudhry Ahmed Khan Advocate High Court[1], c)his grand children, (Grandson) Brig. Iftikhar Haider Khan the first High army officer from Chakora, (Granddaughters) Dr. Sameena Khan also an MBA from IBA Karachi[2] and Dr. Aneeqa Khan[3] who are sisters and the first Doctors from Chakora. Dr. Aneeqa Khan married to Rizwan Ahmed Fazeel, second son of Ali Ahmed Fazeel Advocate, a very enthusiast worker of Pakistan movement and former Attorney General of Pakistan at the time when Mohammed Khan Junego was Prime Minister of Pakistan. Among other prominent persons are Ch. Shahwali Khan (his son in law). The Mahrs, the family of Fateh Khan ex councillor, Baba Kothi, his son ch. Nawaz etc. Chakora located opposite to District Complex Chakwal is now famous sort of host to District courts. Chakora has since quit expanded and the young generation particularly girls are inclined to achieve good and higher education thus a number of girls have gained medical education and became doctors.
