The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology (CAPT) was established in Texas in 2002. It trains technicians for the chemical manufacturing, refining, oil, gas, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.

Mission

To accomplish this, CAPT focuses on three models: one for pre-hire education in process technology (PTEC), one for new hire training, and one for incumbent training.

CAPT has five primary goals:

  • To develop curricula and instructional materials for training.
  • To provide professional development opportunities students.
  • Support program development and improvement to serve student and industry needs.
  • Establish industry, education, and government connections to advance process technology education.
  • Maintain economic development of CAPT to assure its independence and continuing operation.
