Cato Manuel Ekrene

Cato Manuel Ekrene (born 1 March 1979) is a Norwegian film director, producer and head of the film company Manuelfilm.

Ekrene was born in Villavicencio, Colombia, and grew up as a street child. He came to Norway at the age of seven and lives in Sveio. He is trained in economics and management and has a master-class in screenwriting.

Ekrene made his directing and screenwriting début with Kampen mot vekten, which premièred in Norway in May 2014. He is to direct a film titled Run, starring Jørgen Langhelle and Kim Sønderholm, beginning in December 2014. He draws on a large network of actors in Norway, the US, and South America.
