Rui Filipe Ferreira Carruço (Lisbon, 19 January 1976) is a Portuguese painter.

Biographical summary

Carruço led an academic life in the field of exact sciences until he decide to dedicate himself completely to painting. In 2000, he took the design course of the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. In 2003 the course of “Gravura” Portuguese Cooperative for Print Making and he attended the studios of several artists. In 2004 he completed the course of Renaissance Painting Techniques of the Angel Academy of Arts in Florence and in 2005 the course of stone sculpture of the International Sculpture Center.
Esthetic movement

His artistic production shows many different styles, which were driven in search of a unique voice in the world of art. This voice is coming with a new forms, inspired by scientific knowledge of the curved space-time, perpetual motion and other inspirations from the area of physics.
Works

His works are represented in several public collections, like the Embassy of Portugal in Poland (Warsaw), Sintra City Hall, Lourinhã City Hall, Oureana Foundation of Culture and in several famous private collections like the collection of the King Kigeli V of Rwanda, the collection of the Prince of Ethiopia Ermias Sahle Selassie or the collection of Cicciolina in Rome.
